months from his debut as a professional cricketer where he earned the tag of ‘slayer of Pakistan’
with the score of an unbeaten 102 in just 97 balls with seven superlatives boundaries.

In amazement of which even the Pakistan media couldn’t stop praising him that he was so
much in form that Pakistan lost to Shubman Gill, leave India, as the team was all out on 69.

the game which he shared with his father, who had to nip his dream in the bud, due to
unavoidable circumstances, was moved into excitement when he saw his baby boy’s
favorite toy was a bat!

"Shubman was interested in the sport since a very young age .He started

wielding the bat at the age of three.He never liked any other toy.He would

play with a bat & a ball before going to bed.” said, his father who is even

today his son’s ultimate coach.

Chak Khere Wala to Mohali,to give strong wings to the amazing love he was showing for
India’s favorite sport -Cricket.

‘Shub’man has proved to be same in his maiden IPL for his team KKR which has had him
for whooping 1.8 crore rupees from the base price of 20 lakh rupees.

Where he became fourth-youngest to score an IPL half-century.He was considered to be
a key player in making KKR reach to the top of points table, with the score of 203 runs in  
13 matches at the IPL.

The decision of the KKR team was proven right and that was further cemented when
team coach Jacques Killa was ‘quite impressed’ by the hard-core punjabi boy.

AADIL BEDI -BIG DAYS

India's Tiger Woods : Chandigarh's Aadil Bedi

That is what the current super-star of cricket Virat Kohli referred to one of the sports personalities of Chandigarh plus three year support from Virat Kohli Foundation.

In a night full of glitter & glam Chandigarh school boy Aadi Bedi was honored with the Budding Golfer of the year-2017 award by Bollywood star Aamir Khan.

The jury consisted of badminton coach of Olympic silver medalist-P Gopichand ,PT Usha & three other Olympians decided that he is eligible on the basis of his stunning performance in Singapore SSG BLR International Championship & Las Vegas Golf Open in USA.He was fourth in the True Vision Junior Golf Championship at Bangkok. He played 247 tournaments across the globe , winning 165 medals.

He was among the seven other sportsperson from different sports who too received the award & the support.

“It was a dreamy night in Mumbai, the city of dreams,  to meet the best names in sports & bollywood -Saina Nehwal, Akshay Kumar, Hardik Pandya and P Gopichand. I felt like I was watching a TV show, it was eye-opener to saw big stars before me.” tweeted Bedi

Impressed by the generosity on players that night, he,one of the 'International' sports personalities of Chandigarh too managed to rub some goodness on his shoulder also & tweeted:

"Meeting Anushka and Virat was a dream come true and I could ask for nothing more. Virat was very polite and chilled out in his talks and he gave me a precious advice to always respect my dad. He also told me that it is good to be distracted at times and that I'm not required to over-practice. He suggested me to rather be an all-rounder and enjoy the life as it is."

NEXT MOVE

One of the Sports personalities of Chandigarh , recently got confirmation from Australia’s golf associations to participate in four elite amateur events, including Australian Masters of Men’s Amateur Championship at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne and Australian Amateur Championship at Wanneroo Golf Club and Lake Kerrinup Country Club, Perth.

In the last two months, Bedi had several achievements. He did well in the national amateur men’s circuit by finishing fourth in Ahmadabad and sixth in Jharkhand. He won Western India Amateur on his debut in Mumbai. At present, he is in the top 900 men’s WAGR rankings. He is making a transition from the junior to the men’s category and he has already accumulated 148 points and climbed to 14th position with two final matches yet to be left.

“These two finals will be good practice for me before I move to Australia next year. I have worked hard and I am happy that the foundation promised to help me by providing me fitness and nutrition guidance for the next three years,” said Bedi.

After the selection of Shubman Gill comes another balle-balle news as one another sports personalities of Chandigarh will represent nation at limited - overs squad for the tours of Ireland and England.

He says it feels surreal.


The  punjabi pacer  has been big name in  the making of Sunrisers Hyderabad  table topper this season & has made the team a formidable bowling side with the support of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan & one another punjabi speedster Sandeep Sharma.

It outcome out of hard work of  almost 10 years, as few months back he earned an Indian ODI team call-up but didn't  get a chance to make to make his ODI debut in the series.
About his bowling , Kaul said,"I focus on my basics & I prepare to further strengthen my strong points. I always keep a positive frame of mind. I focus on my performance and do best for my team."
he said.

His elder brother Uday Kaul, a Ranji Trophy player, lauded him for his perseverence. “He was not disappointed when he did not get a chance to play against Sri Lanka. He worked hard on a national team call-up. He should shine in English conditions.”

IPL EFFECT 

He certainly feels this is because of his improved performance in on going IPL season -  13 wickets, with an economy of little over 7 for his Sunrisers Hyderabad team.

The  27 year old counts on Bhuvneshwar Kumar for improvement in knuckle balls & yorkers. "This is my third season for Sunrisers & I owe Bhuvi a lot. I think he is the smartest bowler in the world, he is an inspiration for me. He keeps me inspiring even in nets."said Kaul.

Chandigarh star shines in IPL

IPL 2018: MATCH 33: Chandigarh’s Shubman Gill outstanding performance outdoes Dhoni's

CSK, as KKR wins by 6 wickets.

Chennai Super Kings visited the iconic Eden Gardens to face Kolkata Knight

Riders in the 33rd match of the IPL 2018. Chennai Super Kings ruled the

last match between the two teams, which was played at the Chepauk

in Chennai.

KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik won the toss and chose to bowl first.

CSK as always was playing in best of its capabilities with smashing

six & fours  and the total that should have been over 200, was stopped

at 177/5 in 20 overs.

Then came KKR who wasn't off to

good start , however they raised

the temperature like mercury ,

giving its on ground fans good reasons

to cheer.

Then in KKR story  who roared at the greens was the

one of the rising sport personalities Chandigarh- Shubman ,

who played the best innings of his T20 career so far and scored 57* off 36

balls (6x4s, 2x6s) to take KKR to an outstanding win over the no.1 team CSK.

And the KKR  selectors team must be patting their back for having him

in for whopper 1.8 crores!!

And this  unbeaten half-century has made many  to comment on him, for good

reason & coach Jacques Kallis quite impressed. “So by the time he walked out

to bat at No.4 against Chennai in a match we really needed to win, he was not a

rookie and knew exactly what to do. There is no shot or option he does not

AADIL BEDI: When  Harinder Bedi , an amature golfer himself- introduced his little
 annoying son  to the game at the tom & jerry watching age ,little did he and his busy wife 
knew that their son was destined to rule the greens! His 150 medals in over 230 tournaments 
across the globe  are apt testify that.

With Byman charges a staggering $200 for half an hour, but the figure doesn't deter the Bedi

SHUBMAN GILL better known as the slayer of Pakistan and fondly
 remembered for his splendid performance against Pakistan in the semi finals of 
ICC Under -19 World Cup for that  he bagged the man of the match award.His 
story is same like many other, whose  father saw his dream becoming reality through nipped his 
cricketing dreams in the bud due to some reason or other and one day his dream sees the light
 of the day whenhis son hits great shots &  ‘he’ becomes his first coach. Same was the initial
 days of Shubhman and his father.Nothing has deserted his family from fulfilling his dream nor
 even the family’s move to 300 km away from their paternal village. He all mentally prepared to

AMJYOT SINGH : 6” chandigarh lad  who was the reason for the major face lift of Indian
 basketball by becoming the first Indian citizen to get drafted into the final roster of an NBA G
 League side directly from the draft process.

Injury and boredom had driven Gill away from cricket as a youngster, and taking cue from his
 father—Mohinder Singh played basketball—he switched over to basketball at the age of 16.

“I don’t remember the last time I celebrated a birthday at home. Or been with family during any 
of the festivals,” says Gill. “All those sacrifices are slowly starting to pay off.”

Gill is the second Indian to be drafted into a G-league team and the third to make a splash in

CHAHAT ARORA:Chahat started swimming at the age of five on seeing her elder brother Sparsh
 Arora train in Sector 23, she grabbed  the headlines when she became gold medalist in 50 M 
breaststroke in school nationals in 2009. she became the first swimmer from Chandigarh to win 
thegold medal in women’s 100 M breaststroke event.retained the 100m breaststroke title in
 1:15.19s to break A. V.Jayaveena’s 1:16.25 set in 2015.She is one of the great sport
